Wind River Job Corps Center, located in Riverton Wyoming, is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located on the second bench above the Wind River Valley, the Center is one of the largest employers in Fremont County. Our staff teach approximately 300 youth, ages 16-24, the academic, technical training, employ ability and social skill they need to become prepared for successful careers.
Reports to the safety and security manager. Responsible for providing a safe and secure learning environment for staff and students and the transportation of students in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) directives.High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and one year related experience as a licensed driver required. Experience working with youth, excellent written and verbal communication and computer proficiency also required.Valid commercial driver's license CDL required with an acceptable driving record.1. Ensure the physical security of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment; maintain log of findings and corrective action taken.2. Perform parking and traffic control duties; check identification of personnel, students and visitors seeking entrance to or exit from grounds and permit or deny entrance or exit according to established policies and procedures.3. Perform daily routine vehicle equipment inspection, including lights, brakes, mirrors, steering and other required operating equipment; recommend mechanical repairs as needed.4. Assist in transporting the ill or injured as required. Treat and deliver medication when health and wellness is closed.5. Respond to fire alarms, take necessary steps to report fires, assist in suppressing fires and reset fire alarm equipment.6. Set up and check operation of intrusion alarm systems in buildings as required.7. Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances; conduct preliminary investigation of crimes.8. Maintain vehicles for routine services, clean vehicles, check fluid levels.9. Maintain required driver records and reports.10. Operate light trucks, busses and passenger vehicles; transport passengers and/or packages; ensure adherence to established schedules.11. Answer all incoming phone calls after hours.12. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.13. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.14. Participate in student employability programs and activities.15. Promote development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.16. Maintain accoountability of students and property. adhere to safety practices.17. Maintain positive face to face interaction with all students throughout shift. Perform administrative functions; maintain logs, reports, accident documentation; conduct investigations as assigned. Conduct searches as assigned.
