Wind River Job Corps Center, located in Riverton Wyoming, is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located on the second bench above the Wind River Valley, the center is one of the largest employers in Fremont County. Our staff teach approximately 300 youth, ages 16-24, the academic, technical training, employability and social skills they need to become prepared for successful careers.


Reports to the residential living manager. Directly supervises recreation aides. Responsible for the management of well-rounded recreation programs and incentive programs in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) directives.Associate's degree in physical education, recreation education, recreation management or related field. Experience may be substituted in lieu of experience. Two years related experience, one of which must be in a supervisory capacity. Experience working with youth, excellent written and verbal communication and computer proficiency required. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with an acceptable driving record.1. Assist with the planning and coordinating the administrative and student activities services of the department.2. Assist with the evaluation of staff performance, providing staff training, recommending and implementing department and personnel changes as approved by the residential living manager and coordinated with the human resources manager prior to implementation.3. Assist with developing a departmental budget; monitoring and controlling expenditures. Review and recommend changes to budget authorization.4. Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting recreation.5. Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.6. Develop and distribute weekly, monthly and annual recreational plans and schedules of activities.7. Develop, oversee and conduct physical fitness, recreational and social activities to comply with and support overall goals for student development.8. Develop and maintain personnel shift schedules for programmatic coverage seven days a week.9. Establish and maintain linkages with community resources providing recreational opportunities for students.10. Oversee operation of all recreational facilities and programs; ensure proper health and sanitation standards are maintained.11. Coordinate with other center staff pertaining to recreation and social activities.12. Provide management of recreation staff performing technical functions in organizing, conducting and supervising physical, recreational and social activities.13. Coordinate the new student recreation orientation program.14. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.15. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
