Wind river Job Corps Center, located in Riverton Wyoming, is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located on the second bench above the Wind River Valley, the Center is one of the largest employers in Fremont County. Our staff teach approximately 300 youth, ages 16-24, the academic, technical training, employability and social skills t hey need to become prepared to successful careers.


Reports to the maintenance supervisor. Responsible for the completion of a wide variety of tasks and keeping assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition, in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) directives.High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and an aptitude for performing a wide variety of tasks to include the ability to lift 50 lbs. and one year related experience. Experience working with youth. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.1. Lift, carry, open and unpack boxes using hand truck or dolly, if necessary.2. Pick up and dispose of all litter and debris on grounds and inside the center.3. Perform custodial duties such as cleaning buildings, washing windows and floors and sweeping.4. Operate cars, forklifts and pickup trucks.5. Maintain center appearance and preserve all grounds by keeping sidewalks free from debris, weeding, pruning, mowing and weed eating.6. Move and arrange furniture as directed.7. Perform preventive maintenance on selected equipment as scheduled.8. Repair, maintain and assure all buildings and grounds equipment is kept operational.9. Mow, trim and edge all grass areas;water grass & flower beds areas; use insecticides & herbicides as appropriate.10. Perform general cleanup of grounds to include debris, tree limbs, ect.11. Perform winter snow removal from roadways, parking lots and sidewalks.12. Operate all grounds equipment and machinery to include front end loaders, tractors, lawnmovers, edger and snow removal equipment.13. Operate in a safe amnner and wear proper safety equipment while operating machinery; perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment; train student assistants on safety practices and use of protective equipment.14. Install and repair sprinklers and associated lawn watering equipment.15. Obtain and assist bidders for center projects16. Supervise and instruct students assigned to center work support duties.17. Follow center green initiatives for recyclling.18. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.19. Participate in student employability programs and activities.20. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.21. Promote the develoment of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.22. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
