Wind River Job Corps Center, Located in Riverton Wyoming, is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located on the second bench above the Wind River Valley, the Center is one of the largest employers in Fremont County. Our staff teach approximately 300 youth, ages 16-24, the academic, technical training, employability and social skills they need to become prepared for successful careers.


Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree and one year related experience. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.Knowledge of the healthcare field a plus. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and in the state of employment.Essential Functions:1.Instruct new students on basic skills that will enhance career readiness and job search competencies.2. Motivate and counsel student's in areas of retention, career success standards, career readiness, social skills and other areas as described in the career preparation curriculum.3. Develop and prepare lessons, recommend curricula changes.4.Coorinate delivery of individualized services with counselors, residential advisors and other departments as necessary to resolve concerns affecting student's commitment to continuing and completing training.5. Provide a classroom atmosphere conducive to continuous learning and student retention.6. Develop methods to maintain positive contact with admissions counselors and student's family members.7. Administer and correct tests and other assessments instruments; maintain and monitor student accountability and attendance daily in center information system (CIS); monitor and report students status daily to the supervisor of career preparation.8. Monitor and document student's progress in the (CIS) including completion of case notes.9. Assist in the development of the center's career preparation plan.10.Observe, analyxe and document accomplishments. attendance, job ethics, and personal apperance to determine readiness for movement to the career development period.11. Design activities for new students to make them fell welcome and safe upon arrival.12. Distribute to all students a student handbook that accurately reflects current center behavioral expectations, benefits, policies, and procedures.13. Assess student's prior academic achievement,skill level needs, interest, and personal barriers so that appropriate individualized career development services and support can be provided early in enrollment.14. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.15. Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff and other center customers.16. Ensure students learn and practice set behavioral expectation. that support employability and social development for career readiness success.17. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Coprs Zero Tolernace Policy.18. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors. mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and nrgitive behaviors through interventions.19. Maintain accountability of staff, students and property: adhere to safety practices.It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.Position Summary:Reports to the CPP supervisor. Responsible for providing career preparation instruction to students in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and directives.
