Hawaii Job Corps - Maui is currently recruiting for a full-time Secretary with Dental Assistant duties (32 hours per week) . This is a high profile position reports to the Health & Wellness manager and performing a variety of responsible clerical and administrative duties which require extreme discretion (20 hours per week). In addition this position will be preparing patients for dental examination and treatment (12 hours per week) related a medical office environment, in compliance with government and management directives.Brief summary of duties include but are not limited to:Control center wide recurring and non-recurring reports and submissions; maintain report control log.Receive telephone calls and visitors; handle routine matters personally and route non-routine business to proper staff for consideration.Maintain calendar and schedule appointments.Act as liaison between director and other center staff.Maintain correspondence control log, receive incoming and outgoing mail and follow up on dates for action items.Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties; prepare special reports, maintain files and records, statistical data, and make travel arrangements.Maintain central library of directives, handbooks, center operating procedures and other required documents.Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.Assist dentist in performing services by preparing patients in chair and handling required instruments, equipment and dental plastics.Sterilize instruments and keep office stocked with required supplies.Arrange and maintain appointment schedule.Keep records of patients.Provide post-operative and oral hygiene instructions as prescribed by the dentist.Assist in taking patient X-Rays.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Dental Assistant Certificate preferred
