Description

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and wellness services activities of the department.

  • Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance and implement departmental and personnel changes as approved by the career services director and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementation.

  • Coordinate with the finance director to develop departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures, and review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.

  • Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting wellness services to include disability program; coordinate with other departments to for compliance with overall center objectives.

  • Assist in ensuring that OMS performance standards meet or exceed the standards of DOL and MTC; utilized CIS and CTS reports to monitor and enhance student and program progress.

  • Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.

  • Manage and conduct coordinated health care for students, other health related programs and serve as a member of the mental health team and disability team; coordinate all phases of direct medical, dental, TEAP, mental health and psychiatric services for outpatients, inpatients and off center patients.

  • Screen all medical and dental patients for center physician, dentist, and follow up medical care.

  • Correspond with government, parents or guardians, admissions counselors and welfare agencies as applicable.

  • Manage the record keeping and reports on injuries, diseases and disabilities of students.

  • Manage in service training in health related areas for other departments.

  • Provides on-going wellness education, one-on-one as well as in group settings to students.

  • Develop and implement extended training day programs for students that focus on student’s career transition needs.

  • Coordinate, review, and approve payment to all outside vendors, subcontracted staff and services ensuring that expenditures are within contractual and budgetary limitations.

  • Coordinate with other center staff concerning wellness services.

  • Provide direction and technical services in the operation of the weight control, tobacco cessation, pregnancy, TEAP, mental health and other health related special programs.

  • Assist in the development of community linkages in wellness services areas.

  • Participate in community relations council activities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Valid registered nursing license and three years related experience, two of which must be supervisory. Must possess current CPR and first aid certification. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
