Description

Position Summary:

Reports to the facility maintenance supervisor. Responsible for accomplishing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings and provide support to facilities maintenance trade, in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions:

  • Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, electrical outlets, thermostats, breakers and/or fuses.

  • Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.

  • Maintain and preserve old or new surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking, filling, sealing and painting.

  • Provide preventative maintenance to equipment, including lubrication, filter cleaning and replacement, and parts inspection and replacement; maintain a working knowledge of HVAC for maintenance and control of building temperatures.

  • Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.

  • Perform limited repair or replacement of plumbing, fixtures, washers and seals, as directed.

  • Perform parking lot and grounds maintenance on property.

  • Provide back-up to the custodian as assigned.

  • As assigned, perform routine scheduled checks of the water system.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and general knowledge of maintenance/repair, and one year related experience. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
