Reports to the supervisor, food services. Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food for center in compliance with government and management directives.
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients as directed.
Provide adequate supply of foods and transfer necessary ingredients to cooking area.
Prepare vegetables and salads for cooking by washing, peeling, coring, grinding, shredding or chopping.
Prepare meats for cooking by washing, trimming, boning, cutting, cubing or forming into patties or loaves.
Cook or bake items which require minimum preparation.
Serve meals from steam table.
Work with and assists students in the performance of their daily work schedules.
Assist the senior cook in the preparation of food services for special center functions, cultural events and visitors.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience required. Valid food handler's permit if required in the local area. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
